When director Louise Unmack Kjeldsen is struck by insomnia, brain fog and depression, she slowly discovers that this is not a personal health crisis, but an experience shared by women all over the world. However, despite the fact that half the world’s population go through menopause, science knows frustratingly little about how hormonal changes affect the brain, mental health and working life. 

Combining intimate stories from women with science from people like Silje Mæland at the University of Bergen, archival footage and animation, MENOPAUSE MYSTERY is an eye-opening documentary about a neglected field of women’s health.
