EUROPA 1300: Explorations (Including Medieval walk from Håkonshallen to Litteraturhuset)
Through a series of talks on diverse topics and an open medieval music workshop, we explore key aspects of fourteenth-century European culture.
Welcome to the second day of Europa 1300, CANTA’s multidisciplinary meeting devoted to music and culture in fourteenth-century Europe.
The day begins with a medieval walk through Bergen led by Alf Tore Hommedal, from Håkonshallen to Litteraturhuset, tracing the city’s European connections in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.
The walk leads directly into the afternoon programme at Litteraturhuset, where a series of talks explore urban and monastic life, religious culture, art, and language in medieval Europe.
Alongside the talks, Ensemble Currentes leads an open medieval music workshop, culminating in a short concert at 18:00.
