The Foreign Express is based on the premise that the stories being told by minorities and expats are better understood if we can recreate a visual and visceral interpretation on screen, while they speak. The audience is immersed in their world and can literally see, and better understand, their history. For example, survivors of a civil war can tell you about their experience in a refugee camp, but most of us who have never experienced this, have an imagination of that experience based on what we have seen in the media. The Foreign Express takes you into that world. It’s a chance to broaden our horizon and make us more aware of the history of the immigrant as visualized from their own personal experiences.
