An afternoon exploring key aspects of Brazilian culture

Join us for a series of talks on Brazilian culture from different perspectives: a lecture on artistic and literary movements in 20th-century Brazil; a concert presentation on bossa nova exploring its themes and the relationship between lyrics and music; a lecture on modern architecture in Brazil; and a panel on the experiences and future perspectives of Brazilians in Norway.

  • 15:00 Modern Brazilian Architecture, lecture 16:00 Brazil in Norway, panel led by Irene Kinunda Afriyie (author and public speaker)

BossaFest, the final event in the 2026 CANTAfest series, is organized by CANTA in collaboration with Litteraturhuset i Bergen, Tekoá Kultursenter, Cine Latino, Bergen School of Architecture (BAS), and Fargespill, with support from Bergen Kommune, Vestland fylkeskommune, and the Embassy of Brazil in Norway.

Velkommen til en serie foredrag om sentrale sider ved brasiliansk kultur: et foredrag om kunstneriske og litterære bevegelser i Brasil på 1900-tallet; en konsert med foredrag om bossa nova som utforsker dens temaer og forholdet mellom tekst og musikk; et foredrag om moderne arkitektur i Brasil; og et panel om erfaringene og framtidsperspektivene til brasilianere i Norge.
